Friday Night Out!
Available every Friday night – advance booking. 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
Sometimes a group of friends would like a custom-designed private class that is sort of like going out to dinner with friends, but as well as eating a delicious meal you learn how to cook it. Wine is included and numbers are for 6 minimum, and 8 maximum. Any type of cuisine can be addressed or just a range of dishes. Maybe a group of work colleagues would like to learn how to make healthy lunches. Indian Curry night? Thai Cooking? Breadmaking? The options are endless!
Prices are based on numbers attending and class content, but based on 6 people the cost is from 55 Euro per person including dinner and a glass or two of wine. When 8 people are attending the cost is from 50 Euro per person.
Transport can be arranged.
Salads and Vegetable Dishes
Tuesday 20th July. 7.30pm to 9.30pm. 45 Euro including supper and a glass of wine.
Salads need not be an afterthought. They are a fantastic way to eat healthily and can be sustaining and nourishing enough to be a main meal if the right mix of ingredients is used. Good dressings are crucial as are fresh herbs. Vegetable side dishes really do bring zest and life to a meal but sometimes we see interesting vegetables but are not sure what to do with them. Our garden is full of homegrown bounty and this is the class to show how to make wonderful vegetables shine in a variety of meat-free dishes.
Summer BBQ
Thursday 22nd July. 7.30pm to 9.30pm. 45 Euro including supper and a glass of wine.
What makes a great BBQ? Well of course a dry day, but strongly flavoured gutsy food that is easy to churn out and easy to eat is essential. Thinking ahead and marinating meats, how to cater for non-meat eaters who really get a bad deal at barbeques, making great salads, and all the tricks of outdoor cooking will be addressed here. We are due a great summer – so be prepared!
Home Baking
Tuesday 27th July. 7.30pm to 9.30pm. 45 Euro including tastings of all produce.
Hands up who can resist good fresh baked goods? Fluffy scones with jam, zesty lemon cake, apple tart, spicy carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake, nutty oaty cookies…. The list is endless of what ultimate home baked things are - we all know we shouldn’t eat this stuff every day, but what is the harm in once a week or a couple of times a month? Much lower in sugar than commercially made products, and so so delicious.Your whole house smells divine too!
Mexican Mama
Thursday 29th July. 7.30pm to 10.30pm. 55 Euro including a lovely cold beer or wine!
Why on earth Ireland hasn’t grasped Mexican cooking by the throat is beyond me…it is a wonderful style of cooking and so healthy. Thai food is delicious but so familiar now, we need a new burst of flavour and Mexico packs that in. Avocadoes, tomatoes, lime, chili, coriander, cumin, potatoes, beans, beef, fish, rice, corn…crunchy salads, zesty salsas, filling burritos…delicious food, not difficult, readily available ingredients…what’s stopping you? PS this is way way beyond dinner kits which are choc-full of nasty chemicals. Make it from scratch!
CLASSES FOR AUGUST – SEPTEMBER WILL BE POSTED SHORTLY.
Salads & Vegetable Dishes

Good dressings are crucial as are fresh herbs. Vegetable side dishes really do bring zest and life to a meal but sometimes we see interesting vegetables but are not sure what to do with them. By mid-June our garden will be full of homegrown bounty (hopefully!) and this is the class to show how to make wonderful vegetables shine in a variety of meat-free dishes.
