Farm Shop Open

After a long Christmas break we are open again…well we would have been open last week if we hadn’t been up to our eyeballs in snow. Who would think it? Looking out this morning to sunny blue skies, mild temperatures, and green hills it is hard to see how on earth it could have been minus 14 here last week…our weather is truly erratic. The winter before last we were in Philadelphia, and once it hit a cold snap that was it for weeks. In fact it was 28 degrees on Halloween then the next week it was icy and snowy. It stayed like that til March then suddenly changed again and then it was hot…really really unbearable indoors-only hot. We spent more time indoors in heated or airconditioned houses that year than we would ever here. I prefer the Irish climate I must admit.

Anyway anyway, today the shop is open again with artisan handmade cheeses, home baked bread, (I’m a bit slow on the sweet stuff these days for baking as most people are like me trying to stay away from those kind of treats so multi seed brown bread is the most popular at the moment!) vegetables, fruit, eggs, free range pork, farmhouse icecream and sorbet, smoked trout, and of course my own award winning all butter frozen pastry!

Shop opens on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10am to 7.30pm.

Happy New Year!
